Madurai, Tamil Nadu
The land of Meenakshi temple, Madurai is the second largest city in the State of Tamil Nadu. The capital of Pandya kingdom of South India, the city has a population of over a million people.
Meenakshi Temple, shown in this picture, was built by King Kulasekaran and then he created the whole city around the temple. Some people still call the city Marudhai (fertile land).
